Work with me.

Speaking for the groups founders trust. Private advisory for a few founders at a time.

Speaking

The talk your members haven't heard.

The personal side of the exit, delivered from the inside. The six phases of the Exit Map, the sandbars that catch founders in each one, and what the deal does to the person making it. The stories come from the sale of Quicken Steel and from The Extraordinary Exit, the book I co-wrote with Andy Harris of STS Capital Partners.

It lands with CEO peer groups, advisor institutions, CPA and wealth-management client events, and conferences where the owners in the audience are closer to this question than they've said out loud. The people who find me afterward are always the owners.

Keynote, fireside, or a working session, on stage or virtual.

Private Advisory

A few founders at a time, all the way through the sale.

My ideal client is a founder who is scaling a business and watching an exit come into view, one to three years out. You want to arrive ready, on the numbers and in yourself. Some call earlier than that. Some call from the middle of the process, when the weight shows up. The work runs all the way through the sale.

We meet one on one, at a rhythm that fits where you are. Early preparation runs at a different pace than diligence season. Between calls you have a direct line to me. The agenda is yours: the preparation the business needs, the conversations you're rehearsing at home and at the office, the offers when they come, the diligence months, and the landing you're getting ready for.

I don't run deals and I'm not your banker. Your sell-side advisor runs the process. I work beside that team, on the founder.

The list stays small on purpose, four or five founders at a time, so every engagement gets the attention a sale deserves. The work ends at the close, with you ready for what's on the other side. Engagements are supposed to end.

How It Starts

A conversation, not an application.

Email [email protected] and tell me where you are in the passage. If a call makes sense, we'll set one, and you'll know by the end of it whether this is your kind of help.

If you want a head start, take the Exit Readiness Assessment and bring your results.

Work With Me

Bring your group the talk, or bring me your exit.

Invite me to speak to your group, or talk with me about private advisory if you've got a sale ahead of you. Both start with an email. I read every one and answer personally.
